THE REGIONAL INFLUENCE ON DE LA CROIX DE LAFAYETTE

THE CORSICAN SERIES*

By Rosalie Huntington

These paintings are part of the famous “Corsican” series. A rich set of paintings and compositions of his early modern work. Forms, shapes, compositions and colors were influenced by the landscape, earth and skies of the Mediterranean region and particularly Corsica and  La Sardaigne.  A most unique art form and art genre distinguished by the brilliant use of different tones and shades of  "blues".

“Those paintings are full of life, energy and happiness. An aquatic dream land and an oasis for our fantasies and dreams” as well put by Dr. Etienne Leroux.
