BACKGROUND. HOW WE STARTED

DE LA CROIX PRODUCTIONS INTERNATIONAL, INC.

De La Croix Productions International, Inc., was incorporated in 1984 in Washington, DC, USA. The three original incorporators and officers were Maximillien de La Croix de Lafayette (President and Chairman), John Graves (Vice President) and Valerie Assenjo (Executive Director). De La Croix Productions International began as a United States art, music and stage productions corporation. Its first production was the world premiere musical melodrama "Marmara The Gypsy", written and directed by Maximillien de Lafayette and which was produced and performed at the prestigious John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC. The  musical play was an immense undertaking which gathered more than 250 performers, singers, dancers, actors and actresses. Illustrious names joined the production.

To name a few: Dr. Harold Evans (The Orchestra Conductor), Professor Sonya Wagner, Marie Rose Coppola (President of Washington Strolling Strings Orchestra), Marty Ray,  et al. Numerous recitals and piano concerts were given by the corporation at its headquarters on Massachusetts Avenue. The center of the corporation was hosted on the premises of  a luxurious 3 story stone mansion in the most prestigious area of Washington, DC., property of Mr. de Lafayette, president and founder of the corporation. Later on, in its second stage, the corporation embraced various additional  social, academic and cultural activities. It produced, financed and published "The Academician Magazine", the first official academic magazine of NASACU. The magazine lasted 3 years. It was solely financed by the corporation and distributed free of charge to all the cultural organizations, colleges and universities in the United States, and abroad as well. Mr. de Lafayette was the first Editor-in-Chief of  "The Academician".

Outstanding people in academia, world of research, teaching and journalism joined the publication enterprise of the corporation. To name a few, Dr. Frank Portugal, Dr. Kerim Key from the United States Department of Commerce and Professor at the American University and Southeastern University, Dr. M. Mughissudin, Dean of the International Study Program at the American University, Dr. John Chen, Laureate of the United Nations/UNESCO and Member of The White House Conference on Library Sciences and Information Services, Dr. Raymond Sabalat, Secretary of State of Haiti, Melima Mercouri, Secretary of Culture and Education of Greece, and a fleet of national and international writers, journalists, artists and educators.

DE LAFAYETTE WORLD MEDIA GROUP

In the late eighties and early nineties, Mr. De Lafayette who has been practicing law in Europe and the Middle East (He never considered joining the American Bar Association, for he had no intention of practicing law in the United States) has already developed strong ties and solid friendship with several foreign world leaders, presidents of journalists syndicates, European and Middle Eastern newspapers and magazines,  and eminent foreign senior correspondents.  Those valuable contacts, as well as,  de Lafayette's long experience as an international journalist, columnist, a past Editor-in-Chief of the London Monthly Herald, The International Herald Daily News and foreign correspondent in Europe and the Middle East came handy and proved to be extremely useful when he decided on creating DE LAFAYETTE WORLD MEDIA GROUP, the publisher of several magazines with multi varied global interests in the eastern and western hemispheres. Thus, in 1990, chronologically and logically,  De Lafayette World Media Group was created and became a division of De La Croix Productions International, Incorporated. Today, the division grew up to become a major international  publishing consortium that publishes seven magazines reaching an estimated readership of 10,000.000 readers from all walks of life, in approximately 135 countries.
